Creative Senior Pictures by Pittsburgh Area Photographer
Creative senior pictures by Daniel Paul Photography.
Are you looking for something different and creative for senior pictures? This is the age of Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook and we all know that your photos have to be worthy to post. There are a ton of photographers out there. Many of them do a great job but then there are the photographers that stand out above the rest.
The Today Show had a segment on the new style of High School Senior Pictures starring Ben Shirk, an Iowa based photographer. Ben is one of the industries top leaders in high school senior photography. I had the pleasure to be mentored by him so that I could bring this style of photography to the Pittsburgh area. We are talking Hollywood type effects for senior pictures and an overall fun experience. Photography isn’t about taking a picture and getting handed a file, any one can do that. Photography is about creating art. You have to have knowledge about light, shadows and posing. This knowledge is essential to begin the creative process. The ultimate goal is to create a piece of art that will capture a moment in time. The final portrait portrays a story about you and what you love to do. This portrait will be displayed in your home for many years to come. It will not be on a hard drive that was misplaced at some point in time.
I had the pleasure of working with two contemporary dancers to create some amazing works of art. One of the dancers is Victoria, a junior at Black Hawk High School and one of my representatives / models. The second dancer is her friend Megan, a high school senior at Mars Senior High School. I had a concept for some creative senior pictures. The first was a battle of the elements fire against water and both girls were all in on helping that vision come to life. They came to the studio to take the pictures and of course as dancers they had to make sure there moves were clean and sharp. This attention to detail helps in the creative process. The second art piece I created was about two friends dancing together. The surroundings consisted of an alleyway, graffiti and a little bit of fog. There were so many great dance moves that I also created a powder explosion for each girl. I had a great time working with these girls and I loved creating artwork that showcases their love of dance.
